Do you have friends or family that share an interest in any of our 26,000 health products? Then you are a perfect fit for the Referral Program! What is this referral program all about? The main purpose is to help you earn credit towards future orders with us. We realize many of our customers refer their friends and family, and we know this is valuable word of mouth advertising that you deserve to be rewarded for. Having this system allows us to pay our customers instead of paying Google or other ad networks - which we would much rather do! So how exactly does this work?

Referral Tiers at healthdesigns.com As a growing company, we need your help in attracting new customers. When you send a new customer to our site, we begin tracking their purchases and rewarding you for each order. Once a new customer you refer places an order:

They receive $5 off their first order, you receive 4% of every order they ever place.

So if the referral orders $100 worth of product, we deposit $4.00 directly into your healthdesigns.com account. Now, every time this person places an order, we automatically deposit 4% of the order total into your account.

This in itself is a great way to earn rewards towards the health items you need. Think of friends that take their health seriously and love to stay stocked up on great nutrition while saving 30-60% everyday. But we had a very wise customer (PB) who said "What if I refer in my Nutritionist? He doesn't order much for himself, but the patients he sends to healthdesigns.com could place many orders". This is a great point and we decided to reward this scenario as well with up to 4 degrees of rewards.

So someone that you have referred to us also sends a new customer to our website, you will receive 3% of that persons order. The same is true of this 3% Tier customer sending a new person to the website, you will receive 2% of that persons order. Finally, if a 2% Tier customer sends a new person to the website, you will receive 1% of that persons order. Confused yet? It's really quite simple and extremely powerful. By 'crowdsourcing' you are able to amass more referral rewards than you could ever dream of within your immediate group of people you know personally. The diagram at left should explain this idea visually for you. Just as an example, one of our customers started blogging about his experience with us and now has a network of over 1,000 referrals (safe to say he will never pay for health supplements again).

The most important thing to remember is to spread your code or url as often as you can. The long term usage and affects of this are monitored by our state of the art algorithms, so no need to worry about anything besides gaining referrals and watching your rewards grow exponentially.

Getting Started & Promoting

Promoting your special code is the key to success. We know there are many ways we all interact today - it is the age of relationships. Be it in person, over the phone, online, social networks, emails...the list is endless. For this reason, we give you several easy options to promote your code regarldess of the setting. To start, in your account you will now see a tab called "Referral Manager". This is where you will need to start and can find your personalized information for referring. Here is some brief information about the information seen in this tab and how to use it:

Use your unique coupon code -OR- your email address as a coupon and give it to friends, family, and coworkers to let them know how they can save 30-60% off their everyday health products with free shipping to their door. When they visit us online, they can input your unique coupon -OR- email address directly into the Discount Codes field like a coupon and click apply for their instant $5 off. Send Email. Click the "Invite a Friend" button. Input your friends email address, name, and a brief message if you would like.
- Your friend will receive an email invitation with your name in it so they know who its from. They are asked to come check us out and given a $5 coupon for their first order if they want to try placing a small order first.

Link. In addition to your unique referral code, we also offer you a custom URL for sharing. This used a tracking technology so that when someone comes to our site from your link and makes a purchase, they automatically get $5 off and you get credit for the referral. Where might this be useful?
- If you want to email from your own email client (Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, etc).
- To avoid having to remember a code, just link some of the text anywhere you write online

Monitoring

In your account, you can see all the referrals you have invited, the total number of items they have purchased, and the total amount they have purchased from us. This ensures you can monitor all activity pertaining to the rewards you have earned in your account, without seeing any personal information as to what your friend is ordering. We then give you a breakdown of the total amount all your referrals have ordered and what you have available to use as credit on any order with us.

The status of earned rewards is as follows:

Pending: Event - This means an order has been placed by one of your referrals, but the order has not yet shipped. You receive rewards once it ships.
Approved - This means the order has shipped and this completed the status of the order. You should now have your rewards.

Additionally, you can receive an automatic email evertime someone places an order and gains rewards for you.

Redeeming

Redeeming the rewards in your account is incredibly easy. Just add products to your cart and apply the amount of rewards of your choosing with the "Spend your Rewards" tool. You will see your grand total adjusted as you apply the rewards. Decide on what to use and proceed through checkout.

Do my rewards ever expire?
The rewards you earn do carry an expiration date of 90 days from the time they were approved. We do send your account an email letting you know the points are going to expire soon and you should consider using them.

When do I actually earn my rewards?
The rewards earned for any order placed by you or one of your referrals immediately get a status of "Pending Event" in your account. When the order physically ships from our location, we consider that order complete and our system "Approves" your rewards. This process cannot be modified or adjusted as it was built this way purposely to keep both our company and customers safe from abuse of the system.

Can I use just some of the rewards in my account for an order, and not all of it?
Yes, we now have the ability to apply just part of your rewards balance to any order. Simply use the "Spend your Rewards" tool in your shopping cart before proceeding through checkout.

What if I invite someone who has already been invited?
Do not worry, if two customers invite the same friend, it is up to the friend as to which link they come in on...so be nice to this friend to increase your chances!

Someone I referred that was a 4% or 3% or 2% referral only earns me 1% on future orders after the first year, why?
After 365 days, every referral is automatically changed to earn you 1% back on every order for the life of this program. We have seen a lot of programs where you are only rewarded with a flat one time dollar amount for sending us new customers, and we don't think that is fair to you. We know health is an ongoing effort and we hope to see our customers back many times a year to restock on needed products. For this reason, we are willing to reward you indefinitely for the orders your referrals place.

Can someone who places an order over the phone still be captured as my referral?
No, we are unable to setup a new customer account and capture this person as your referral. Please have them register here before calling their order in to receive credit: https://www.healthdesigns.com/customer/account/create/

I had Rewards that I had earned when purchasing in the past but no longer see those rewards in my account, why not?
As of May 2012, the Referral Rewards Program replaced what was the 5% back rewards system. Customers were given the opportunity to use any rewards from the old system up through July 31st 2012. Any rewards after this point will be removed by our system as we phase accounts onto the new system. Can I ever lose rewards for a reason beyond them expiring?
Our company reserves the right to remove any account or rewards balance in response to abuse of this system. We actively monitor account creation, multiple accounts, geographic location, IP addresses, and many other aspects of accounts to identify those who may try to abuse our system. This type of behavior not only hurts our company and customers but may result in an account suspension, website ban, or further penalties. The software we have in place was created to actively flag accounts for our specialsts to review them, so please do not try to abuse this system - it's much easier to use this legitimately!

December 2011 - We beta tested our original referral and rewards program for an entire year in 2011 and garnered a lot of great feedback from you, our customers. Over those 12 months we received hundreds of emails, facebook posts, and live chat sessions with customers from the USA to Russia to Brazil on this topic.
