Melatonin For Sleep

For example, during the day when the sun is out and there is light, our brains/the pineal glands are told by our suprachiasmatic nucleus, or SCN, that it needs to decrease melatonin production. As the day darkens the SCN then kicks back in and tells our brain that night is coming. It conveys to our pineal glands that it needs to start preparing the body for sleep, kicking melatonin back into production. This process of preparing for melatonin production is sometimes called the dim-light melatonin onset, or DLMO.

Unfortunately, not everyone can produce Melatonin the way that they need too in order to get a full night’s rest.
