Versus Competition

The best of other sleep surfaces—without the problems.

Our body's need for rejuvenating sleep has driven us to stuff mattresses with straw…feathers… springs…foam…water…air. All to find enough comfort to get deep, restful sleep and enough support to avoid stiff, achy mornings.

Every attempt promised both, but in the end, sacrificed either long-term comfort or real support.

The Sleep Adjustment Bed is different. It combines the best of all other sleep surfaces and eliminates their drawbacks. So you get support and comfort—without compromise.

Innerspring Mattresses
Painful pressure vs.
Gentle support

A steel innerspring mattress gives the heaviest parts of the body flexible, mechanical support. But those metal springs, no matter how they're covered, also put painful pressure on hips and shoulders. You toss and turn trying to find a position—any position—that is comfortable. And they start to break down the first night you sleep on the mattress. Eventually the mattress will get more comfortable, but there won't be much support left.

The Sleep Adjustment Bed has soft polymer coils that adjust to your body weight and natural curves. It gently supports your entire body and keeps your spine aligned while you sleep without discomfort. And, they will give you the same level of comfort and support you experienced the very first night, even after decades of restful sleep.

These computer images are made with sensitive Ergo-Check technology. They map the amount of pressure experienced by your body when laying on a surface. Red and yellow indicate points of concentrated pressure; light and dark green demonstrate comfortably low pressure.

Air Beds

Too hard, too soft vs.
Just right

Hard or soft, other adjustable air beds don't give you proper support. It's a simple matter of physics—if you squeeze a balloon in the middle, the air has to go somewhere. So the ends get bigger. Well, the same thing happens when you lie down on an air bed. Your hips sink deep into the mattress. The air moves to both ends and your head and feet pop up. Your back sags unsupported. And your muscles work all night trying to hold your spine in natural alignment.

The independent controls of the Sleep Adjustment Bed let you and your sleep partner adjust the firmness level on your side of the bed. However, with our exclusive InnerCoils locked inside, the dual air chambers ensure a near perfect sleep posture—no matter what firmness level you find most comfortable.

Compared to a competitive air bed, the Sleep Adjustment Bed more correctly aligns your body.

Water Beds

Too hot all over vs.
Warmth just where you need it

A bed surface that's colder than your body or chronically cold feet can disrupt the depth of your sleep. You wake without feeling refreshed and you aren't even sure why.

Unless you were willing to wear socks and mittens to bed, your best choice for warm hands and feet has been a water bed. Turn up the internal heater and the warm water will chase away the chill. But this warmth comes with a price. Having the same temperature for both sleep partners can lead to conflict or uncomfortable compromise. And those who have tried the uneven, unpredictable warmth of an electric blanket know that is even worse.

The Sleep Adjustment Bed gives you the option of turning on individually controlled therapeutic warmth and allows you to set the perfect temperature for your side of the bed. The sleep-enhancing warmth is in zones to match your body's needs. It provides gentle warmth on your aching back, a little more on stiff thighs or sore knees and the most on your chronically cold feet. This heated surface improves your circulation, relieves the soreness of stiff, achy joints, and reduces the presence of dust mites and their allergy-producing by-products.

Our adjustable temperature control gives you therapeutic heat just where you want it.

Foam Beds & Pads

Deep body divot vs.
Unrestricted comfort

To avoid hard metal springs and an over-firm surface, some beds have been constructed out of temperature-sensitive foam. They use your body heat to actually restructure the bed's surface. It conforms to the shape of your body and cradles you in luxurious comfort.

Unfortunately, foam's virtue is also its vice. Your body weight and temperature create a deep impression, a divot, in the mattress. You have to roll up hill just to change positions. And room temperature makes a difference, too. In a 65-degree winter bedroom, the foam is stiff, unyielding; when summer temperatures soar, it turns mushy. No constant support in that.

The foam used for the Sleep Adjustment Bed hugs your body without interfering with your normal and necessary nighttime movement. It is less temperature dependent and stays stable in a wide variety of environments.

Most temperature-sensitive foam beds conform to your body and leave a deep divot. Our viscous foam is less sensitive to temperature so it cradles you in comfort without leaving a deep body impression.
