The American Sleep Research Institute (ASRI), a pioneer in the
field of sleep normalcy, is the only biomechanical research and
testing facility for sleep-related products in the United
States. It was created in response to the growing need for
specialized research and testing criteria that satisfies
requirements for sleep-related products as established by the
FDA and various other institutions and agencies.
In an effort to advance scientific knowledge about sleep, ASRI
conducts independent research about sleep physiology and
biomechanics. It also offers manufacturers of sleep-related
products—bedding, pharmaceutical, medical and orthopedic
supplies—qualitative evaluation of their products. Using
polysomnographic and subjective measures, ASRI measures product
performance and value as they relate to the quality of sleep.
The ASRI Seal of Approval is granted only to those products
whose biomechanical and qualitative research findings
consistently suggest superior sleep quality. |

The National Institute of Chiropractic Research (NICR) is a
private, nonprofit, bioscientific research organization
supported by individual, business, corporate and foundation
contributions. The principal mission of NICR is to foster and
fund basic applied research relating to clinical biomechanics
and the role of neuromusculoskeletal system in health and
disease. Particular emphasis is given to evaluation of the
effectiveness of commonly used chiropractic diagnostic and
therapeutic procedures. This research includes studying the
relationship between spinal alignment and sleep. |
