Bodybuilders are always on the hunt for the “holy grail” of supplements that will help them maximize their strength. And honestly, it should be that way. Get the Proper Amount of Nutrients With BCAA

When you workout, your muscles start breaking down with each and every pump or rep that you do. The reason that you lose strength after a certain amount of reps is because all the nutrients and muscle fibers are beginning to become depleted, and need to start rebuilding. This is a good thing, because as your muscles break down they then are able to build themselves up even stronger then they were before. How is this done? It can only occur during a process called “protein synthesis”, which is where BCAA becomes very important. BCAA is comprised of three essential amino acids (leucine, isoleucine, and valine) that your body needs to send signals from the brain to the metabolism for protein synthesis to occur. Without proper amounts of BCAA in your body, these signals can become weak and insufficient to provide proper muscle nutrition that will help rebuild muscle fibers adequately. Also, because BCAA are in charge of telling your body to produce growth anabolic hormones and testosterone, your muscle growth can also be inhibited if you don’t have proper amounts of BCAA in your diet. This can result in you feeling drowsy during workouts and lacking energy for the kind of intensity you need in the gym to push your body to the next level. However, this can be solved with taking a BCAA supplement that makes sure you have the proper amount of essential amino acids that your body needs.

When Should You Take BCAA?

As a bodybuilder, it is also important to know when to take your BCAA supplement that will provide you the best results. Professional bodybuilders usually recommend taking half your supplement about an hour before your workout, and then other half right after your workout is completed. The reason to take half your BCAA before a workout is to prepare your metabolism to send protein to your muscles so they have all the fuel they need for your workout. Taking a BCAA supplement will also better regulate your insulin levels, which will give you more energy so you don’t feel drowsy or tired. Then after your workout you should take the other half of your BCAA supplement to help your muscles recover. Taking a BCAA supplement immediately following a workout aids the protein in helping to rebuild the muscle fibers that were broken down in your workout, and turns them into bigger and stronger muscles. So if you are after better results in the gym, be sure to make BCAA a part of your regular supplementation regiment. There is no doubt that you will definitely see better results in your gains, along with feeling better during your workouts as well!
